Allied Health field offers greatest opportunity for displaced workers
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – Former automotive workers or dealership employees seeking new career opportunities have the greatest opportunity for success by pursuing positions in the Allied Health field.
Allied Health positions such as Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs), and mental health care workers are in great demand at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and home health care agencies.
“There’s no question that in the Allied Health field PTs, OTs and Speech and Language Pathologists are very much in demand,” says Ronda Freeman, President of VivIO Counseling and Psychology Consulting Group in Southfield. “It is not only much easier to find jobs but those hired will enjoy job security and a stable work environment.”
VivIO (pronounced “viv-EYE-oh”) works with Allied Health facilities to identify the most competent and qualified candidate for a job opening and works with job seekers to find the position that best matches their skills.
Physical therapists (PTs) help patients, including accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy, by providing services that restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
Occupational Therapists help maximize a person’s independence by teaching daily living activities such as dressing, grooming and cooking, health maintenance and self care, regaining vocational skills, and consulting on equipment choices.
A Speech and Language Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language and swallowing disorders in persons of all ages. “We can offer Allied Health workers tremendous options,” stresses Freeman. “As their agent, we will negotiate flexible work schedules, high wages, the best benefit packages, and place them in a job they will absolutely love! We have the relationships and contacts needed to find the perfect match.”
Connecting job seekers, training VivIO consultants also will point displaced workers toward retraining programs that will allow them to obtain the skills and academic training needed by PTs, OTs, and SLPs. Auto workers drawing unemployment benefits, for instance, may qualify for extended benefits by signing up for retraining.
As one of the top career consultants in the Allied Health Field, VivIO never gives up until it finds the perfect match between the job seeker and hiring company. And VivIO professionals remain in contact with their placements to make sure the promises made on day one stay true over the ensuing months and years.
